About the Author

Patricia Schooley

Patricia Schooley grew up in Indiana. She graduated from Indiana University with a degree in English Literature and received her master's degree from the University of Illinois.

She, her husband, and four children lived outside Washington DC for a number of years then moved to Boston where she continued her interest in history and restoring old buildings.

The family purchased Old Forge Farm in 1986; and she began writing this series of articles in collaboration with the Washington County Historical Trust in 1989.
